Screen Resolution:
| Do you find this page to be way too big for your screen? If
so, I would guess that your screen resolution needs updating. Only a few years
ago a screen res of 640x480 was the norm but nowadays, with cheap 17"
monitors and new graphics software, 800x600 is currently in vogue, fast
heading towards 1024x768. By way of compromise, I used 960x720 on a 15"
monitor in editing this site. Put simply, higher screen res gives better
graphics.

What's this all about? Well frankly I didn't like the "bits of newspaper" (otherwise known as the "sumii-painting" style) - stacked up vertically ... and decided to try something different. I personally think that the 2 pages look a lot better, which begs the question, should I change the whole site? Let's see. If you've
looked at the Site Map you'll realise that this
website consists of a lot of pages (around 70) all linked to each other
through a lot of levels. So, if you decide to add, remove, or relocate a
page, how long does it take to reorganise all the "link buttons" that join
'em up ... days, weeks, forever? The answer is milliseconds,
- all thanks to Microsoft Frontpage 2002, the website authoring software
used. Personally I am no big fan of Microsoft, I find their products overpriced, out-dated and unstable. A lot of people make better products, Dreamweaver website software is far better artistically than FP2002, but cannot produce sites as quickly & easily. Oh well, after MS read this (as they are quite able to) we probably won't have a website next week. |

Internet Connections:
There are places in this website where you'll connect with the outside
"web-world", namely:
On this site, to make life easy, ALL internet links now open "new windows". To return here all you have to do is close the window by clicking the little cross in the top right hand corner of the page. You are, of course, quite at liberty to simply minimize the window so that you can go back later. But beware, you can finish up with a dozen "open windows" which can slow your computer down a little (or maybe a lot). |
